The Green Hornet: Holyoke Comics

  1. Great to see! I hope the new movie does justice to the character. I have a huge collection of the radio show, but it's disappointing that so many of the later episodes no longer exist. Once the Reid revealed his identity and developed an unofficial alliance with law enforcement, the series really went up a notch.

  2. The second cover is scary. Look at his eyes!

  3. I wouldn't mind getting this set. Kind of high I would imagine though.

I don't hold a lot of hope for the movie though. Though he doesn't fit the image, I can deal with Rogen as Reid. But from the trailer and Hardee's commercial campaign, he comes across as an incompetent idiot playing at being a superhero.

  4. SyFy will be running all 26 episodes of the 1966 - 67 TV series with Van Williams and Bruce Lee on Tuesday starting at 10 AM EST. They won't be in strict original broadcast order but not too far out of line.

  5. I see they're going to run a marathon of the original series. I forgot where, though. I'll have to see if I can figure it out. I liked some of those old episodes.

  6. I've heard only random episodes of the radio series, so don't know the difference between early or late.

My hopes for the film are not high. When I saw that commercial (out here in the West Hardee's is called Carl's Jr) I hoped that clown playing the Hornet was not really the movie guy. No such luck.

Gotta set my VCR for that marathon. My memories of the series are pretty hazy.
