Looks like a lot of action... I remember going to the movies and seeing these production stills out front and inside... are they called lobby shots?

Close! They're lobby cards. They came (and still do) in sets of eight, and the first one, designed like a small poster, was called a title card. Sadly, the title cards went the way of the dodo sometime in the sixties. At 11 x 14", they fit nicely in a wide variety of store bought frames.
