Toy Soldier Saturday: MARX 60mm GIs (Part 2)

Part 1 of this Marx army appeared HERE. These stretcher bearers are interesting because (unlike the similarly posed Tim-Mee soldiers HERE) each man is a different pose. They guy in front looks grim, while the one in back is laughing.

The figure below looks awkward with his arm hanging out, so it seems likely he's injured and leaning on one of his buddies. If so, that buddy does not seem to be among my platoon. Anyone know him?

Forgotten Stories: "The House of Seven Dragons" - a SPICY ADVENTURE by Robert Leslie Bellem

Not long ago I posted "Hop Cargo," a spicy adventure starring hard-wenching news photographer Johnnie Piper (that's HERE). Now our man John is back, and once again up to neck in scantily-clad females. This one's from the May 1937 issue of Spicy Adventure Stories. Let the titillation begin . . .

Overlooked Films: THE TERROR OF TINY TOWN (1938)

The first and only all-midget western. What more's to be said?

Cap Gun Monday: Hubley DEPUTY

Here's another of those not-too-usual guns with metal grips. These grips are particularly unusual in that they feature all this fancy scrollwork. And I can't think of another gun with this train trestle-like structure mounted atop the barrel.

Don't know if this pistol was ever marketed as a tie-in with The Deputy series starring Henry Fonda, but it's surely possible.

Toy Soldier Saturday: IDEAL Pirates

These pirates were made to scale for a plastic Ideal pirate ship. I once had a chance to pick one up at a reasonable price, but was too cheap. One of my great regrets. I found a pic online that I posted at bottom.

Note that this sculptor was far more talented than the one who did the Ideal 7th Cavalry (HERE). I believe this same guy did the Ideal GIs and sailors (coming soon).
