This series was produced in England for ITC, the same outfit that did The Adventures of Robin Hood (with Richard Greene), The Adventures of Sir Lancelot, and The Adventures of William Tell, where some of the same faces popped up. It ran for 39 episodes, ending in 1957.
Robert Shaw, who was slated to star as Captain Dan Tempest, was not available for the first two episodes, so they started without him. You should, too. Someone has now claimed copyright on YouTube, so these videos have been blocked. Watch fast before they disappear!
I watched it when I was a kid. I haven't seen these yet--maybe later tonight--but I'll bet they don't hold up well. Not that that is a problem for me.
