Private Eye VIC FLINT Solves "The Jerce Murder" (1946)

Vic Flint was one of very few pulpy hardboiled dicks to do business in the funny papers. His daily strip ran from 1946-56, and the Sunday from 1946-65. According to Ron Goulart, his first adventure began with the line "The whole thing started late one afternoon. I was sitting in my office reading the papers about a killing." So this appears to be it. Michael O'Malley did the words, Ralph Lane the pictures. This reprint appeared in Authentic Police Cases #11, from Feb. 1951, as scanned for ComicBookPlus by Henry Peters.

That was a pretty good yarn, especially for a comic book.
