EQMM Readers Choice Awards for 2010
The May 2011 issue of EQMM spilled the beans on the results of the 2010 Readers Choice poll, and Mr. Skyler Hobb and I extend a hearty hip, hip, hoorah to all the finalists. I'll be hunting down more work by all these folks posthaste. Here's the list:
1. Dave Zeltserman, "Archie's Been Framed" (Sept/Oct)
2. Doug Allyn, "The Scent of Lilacs" (Sept/Oct)
3. Doug Allyn, "Days of Rage" (March/April)
4. Lee Goldberg, "Mr. Monk and the Seventeen Steps" (Dec)
5. Brendan DuBois, "To Kill an Ump" (Sept/Oct)
6. Clark Howard, "Winter's End" (Dec)
7. Clark Howard, "Last Dance in Shanghai" (June)
8. Evan Lewis, "Skyler Hobbs and the Rabbit Man" (Feb)
9. Stephen Ross, "The Man With One Eye" (Dec)
10. Carol Biederman, "The Changelings: A Very Grim Fairytale" (Nov)
Hobbs pretends to be unfazed by his eighth place finish, but I snuck a peak at his journal and discovered he's actually quite pleased. He did grouse about me being a skinflint, though. If I'd simply bought 50 extra copies of the magazine, he says, sending in 51 ballots instead of one, it may have catapulted him into seventh place. Tsk tsk.
Anyway, if anyone besides me did happen to vote for Hobbs, we're both mighty grateful!
And thanks to ZooMystery author Ann Littlewood for the list!
Good company there. You must be grinnin'

ReplyDeleteCongrats to you and Hobbs, both! A great list and some good company. Perhaps celebrate with some hasenpfeffer?
ReplyDeleteI voted for Clark Howard.
ReplyDeleteGotcha!
I wonder if Amazon will give me a refund on my copies of Love, Death and the Toyman and The Toyman Rides Again.
ReplyDeletePut them on the hypermodern list. I'm sure they're worth a small fortune by now. Very small.
ReplyDeleteThat is totally awesome and very well deserved. Congratulations!
