I probably watched this on American Bandstand back in 1959 when I was typing ditto masters for my EC fanzine SQUATRONT (one word, not two). The song was a piece of crap then as it is still a piece of crap now, but I loved it then and I love it now. Thanks for the reminder that I never had good taste and I am still a good person.
I suggest you read Edd Byrnes Wikipedia page. He had some "interesting experiences" before he became an actor/singer teen idol - Fleet Commander Johnson, PWITCC Rtrd

ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip, Fleet Commander.
ReplyDeleteThat was a blast from the past, Kookie, Kookie.
ReplyDeleteYeah, a lame novelty song but rescued by the fact that many of us liked the singers.
ReplyDeleteI remember buying Squatront at Multicon 70 in Oklahoma City, my first comic convention.
Or maybe it was a later con.
