I saw Ralph Meeker in the play "Picnic" back in the fifties in San Francisco before it hit Broadway, but I don't recall seeing this movie. Will watch when I have time.
This is actually one of the best of what is called "film Noir",and was very influential on the French new wave directors of the late fifties and early sixties. It was actually shot around Los Angeles, so is a great historic document of the era. Lots of scenes in the old Bunker Hill area.
