I hear that all the time, about my resemblance to Errol Flynn, but they mean how he looks today.
There are so many errors in this story it's hard to know where to start. Like, there were no swords carried at the LBH with the possible exception of Lt. De Rudio's. Custer was part of Terry's command and Crook was in charge of the third pincer. Crook was turned back at the Battle of the Rosebud. Custer's battalions were on his left, not right. One panel shows infantry marching behind him. He was not the last man killed in his group. Terry and Gibbon didn't arrive right after the fight to chase the Sioux away. Sitting Bull didn't participate in the fight. Custer's hair was thinning and cut short for the campaign. There were no wagons with Custer; they used pack mules (which may have contributed significantly to his demise).
The real story is interesting enough without this kind of sloppy or even nonexistent research.
Did you notice how much the artist's rendering of Custer in these looks like Bob Napier? It’s uncanny.
ReplyDeleteYou're right. Looks like Errol Flynn, too, but of course Bob and Errol are doppelgangers.
