It's funny but I have not thought of these cards since I was a kid in the 1950's. But seeing them now brings back all sorts of memories of trading them, flipping them, and having them confiscated by teachers.
These drawings are taken from actual photographs of the men. Pretty cool set. The one of Billy the Kid is similar to how Rick Geary draws him in his book The True Death of Billy the Kid.
The text on Billy's card is pure fiction, of course, but the cards are neat. I had some Old West cards when I was in the sixth grade but finding them again has been impossible.
