Forgotten Stories: Flash Fiction by ED LACY (1945-46)
When I was hunting hardboiled writers back in the '80s, I picked up a few paperbacks by Ed Lacy, but never got around to reading them. Were these comic book fillers written by the same guy? I don't know, but have no reason to think otherwise. The paperback Lacy's real name, Google tells me, was Len Zinberg. He also wrote stuff under that name, and won the Edgar for Best Novel in 1958 for Room to Swing.
"The Ghost of Dutch Emil" appeared in Rangers Comics #30 in August 1946, and was reprinted five years later in Fight Comics #75 as "Ghost Vengeance." "Right Hook to Tokyo" appeared in Rangers Comics #26 in December 1945. I found both on Comic Book Plus (.com).
