The old Captain (probably an uncle to Cap'n Bob Napier) doesn't get much love these days, but from the late '30s to the mid-'50s he was pretty hot stuff. After starting his career on the radio, he moved into comic strips, big little books, a movie serial and a TV show. And of course he had a long run in comic books, beginning with this appearance in The Funnies #57, dated July 1941, as found on comicbookplus.
