The 9-word Short Story

Faithful Almanack reader Mr. Drew Bentley of Omaha, NE sent me this. Don't know where he got it. Don't care. It's pretty funny. Thanks Drew!

  1. Not bad. Perhaps could do with trimming a few words here and there to make it tighter.

  3. A+ Then A is not - as it should be the top grade. If there is A+, what comes next? A++? What, one wonders is the best grade obtainable, A+++++++++++? Perhaps it would be better to make the failing grade a Z, then minimum passing could be an L, a really excellent job could be an E, then the superlatives and other nonsense could rise above that. But no, someone, somewhere would still try to award an A+, wouldn't they.

    God story, by the way.
