These pbs are mine, but the great pulp covers (dang, dang, dang, I wish I owned 'em) are borrowed from the gallery at Galactic Central.

  1. To the queue, Evan ;D First to get the pulp covers is me. No, seriously, great covers. The pulp ones. The original stories by R. T. M. Scott are more detective than pulp hero, but still good.

  2. I have those paperbacks myself. They were where I first discovered the Spider. I'd been buying the Docs and Shadows and these looked interesting.

I was disappointed when they stopped issuing them. And let's not talk about those abominable updated books. Wanting a Spider fix, I picked them up and was really mad when I read them.

  3. I've got a cover that looks a lot like the #2 but isn't. May have been a kind of standard cover for one of the series.

  4. I think that painting from #2 was used on the back of all four books in this series.

I too have unfond memories of the updates.

  5. Comics were unkind to The Spider as well --I recall a bad run from...hmm...Eclipse maybe (?) back in the late '80s. Don't know if they've tried anything since then...

  8. Deka, they updated four of the Spider novels, bringin him into the present. The covers were leftovers from Operator 5 I believe(could be wrong), all blond and wearing white sweaters.

    Complete junk.
