One of the 4th place winners announced in issue 29 is Kenneth Millar AKA Ross MacDonald. Find the Woman is the first Lew Archer Story he ever wrote.
"Find the Woman" appeared in the June 1946 issue. The hero sounds just like Archer, but is identified as "Mr. Rogers." Not THE Mr. Rogers, of course.
Further checking reveals that Macdonald later changed this into an Archer story, probably for the 1955 collection THE NAME IS ARCHER.
