I probably watched this on American Bandstand back in 1959 when I was typing ditto masters for my EC fanzine SQUATRONT (one word, not two). The song was a piece of crap then as it is still a piece of crap now, but I loved it then and I love it now. Thanks for the reminder that I never had good taste and I am still a good person.
I really liked 77 Sunset Strip but this song never clicked with me.
You guys are the ginchiest.
I suggest you read Edd Byrnes Wikipedia page. He had some "interesting experiences" before he became an actor/singer teen idol - Fleet Commander Johnson, PWITCC Rtrd
Thanks for the tip, Fleet Commander.
That was a blast from the past, Kookie, Kookie.
Yeah, a lame novelty song but rescued by the fact that many of us liked the singers. I remember buying Squatront at Multicon 70 in Oklahoma City, my first comic convention.
Or maybe it was a later con.
