Overlooked Films: "A Dime a Dance," from a BLACK MASK story by Cornell Woolrich (1995)
Based on the story "The Dancing Detective" from the February 1938 issue of Mask. This one stars Jennifer Grey and Eric Stolz, and was directed by Peter Bogdanovich.
I didn't see it. NYC still had the Dime a Dance places in the 50's, but it had changed to a Dollar a Dance and that was too much for me to pay. I didn't know how to dance anyway.
Dime a dance places were still running in southeastern Michigan on the 1970's...I remember seeing an ad for hostesses under 'Help Wanted' in the Detroit Free Press when I was job hunting one summer while in college. I imagine they cost more than a dime by then.

Missed this one completely. Was it on TV?

Pretty good and a nice twist at the end.
