Steve Midnight and The Dean are grand, but I've been really enjoying Fred MacIsaac's tales of The Rambler. An itinerant reporter bumming from town to town, picking up hot leads, solving big crimes, then writing blazing journalist exposes before hitting the road once again... that's just such a perfect hero for Depression era America.
I hope Altus keeps bring us these hard boiled gems.
What wonderful books! What a great thing to have these books available to us. But where to put them all? If I didn't have so many pulps I'd have room for them!
