Wayne's serials are actually pretty good. The B-westerns are nothing special. We're about six years from his star making turn in Stagecoach.

Wouldn't mind seeing those serials. Bought a cheap DVD of his Three Musketeers once, and it wasn't all there.

I saw about half of The Shadow of the Eagle many moons ago and I remember thinking it sucked eggs at the time. My favorite character was the midget who would growl in his helium voice to a bad guy, "Why don't you pick on someone your own size, you big palooka?" It also had all the low budget woes: cheap sets, terrible sound track, and ridiculous plot.
