Me too. was my "let's get all what i can" phase. Luckyly, now i have a sense of selection.
I've got a dozen of these unread. I loved the Conan stories and kept buying them, thinking I'll get to them, before I realized why I hadn't kept up. The Conan in these stories was not the Conan I loved. With that realization, I stopped picking them up and those dozen lie unread, unloved.
Bought 'em all. Read 'em. Liked 'em anyway.
I think John Maddox Roberts writes - or used to - historical mysteries set in Roman times. Seems to me I saw him on a panel at Monterey Bouchercon talking about that.
