These are funny but the whole point of minor league ball is family fun. I wish it was just about baseball and the upcoming major league prospects but it's sort of a 3 ring circus for the spectators and kids.

I've supported the Trenton Thunder for 20 years, going to several games each year. The Thunder are a double A farm club for the NY Yankees. I'm a Phillies fan but I still enjoy the games even with the absurd mascots and crazy give aways. Boomer is the official mascot and when he celebrates his birthday, a dozen area mascots show up and the kids love it. Some families do not even realize a professional baseball game is going on. They spend the entire game eating, drinking, talking, and looking at their smart phones.

But still, it's a great way to spend an afternoon or evening in the summer, eating a sandwich and drinking a beer. I've seen many future stars coming up through the minor league system and I'm going to a game tonight. Admission? $11.00!

Play Ball!

I have the Thunder included in a future post, Walker, but I suppose I can spare them for your sake.
