Read it Here: BASIL WOLVERTON'S "Brain-Bats of Venus" (1952)
This cerebral tale by the great Mr. Wolverton comes to us from Mister Mystery #7 (Sept. 1952), as uploaded to comicbookplus by a rockstar called Ontology. Did Mr. W script the story, too? I don't know.

BRAIN-BATS OF VENUS looks like something I might have read as a kid back in the 1950s! Classic stuff!
This is based on "The Vaults of Yoh-Vombis", a short story by Clark Ashton Smith.
Cool! Next time I see my Smith books (they surface occasionally, when they feel like it), I'll give it a read.
Love this story, one of Wolverton's best.
Starting back in 1989 Dark Horse Comics began a short run series, five issues, of Spacehawk. Reprinting Wolverton's classic stories and presenting new ones. Issue #1 includes a story, written and drawn by Jerry Prosser and Gary Davis. where Spacehawk fights The Brain Bats of Venus!
