Marvelous film posters.

Autry was one of my dad's favorite cowboys.

As his horse comes thundering down the hill, Gene strums in his guitar rather than hold the reins. Wotta guy!

Seems like Gene was my first cowboy hero, followed closely by Roy.

Republic is the studio famous for his serials, right?

I liked ole Smiley Burnette and the horse with the circle around his eye. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Gene, too, when he wasn't singing.

Always wondered why there was no Marx playset for Gene. Maybe he wanted too much money.

Yep, Republic made the best serials.

I liked Gene's singing when I was a kid, but except for a few songs, it's pretty hard to take these days.

Good point, Cap'n. A Melody Ranch playset would have been pretty cool. And they could have included a figure of that crazy cowboy robot from The Phantom Empire.
