Inflation sucks, don't it? "Dime" made the jump to 15 cents in 1944. In 1950 they went to 25 cents, though they did increase page count to make it look like a better value. If the mag was still going, I reckon we'd be paying at least $4.99.

I wonder how many of these "women in jeapordy" covers from the old days feature the woman wearing red? My mind tells me a lot. I may have to check one day.

But then didn't that extra page count go away nd they went back to the previous number, just a couple years later? Even at $5, you couldn't buy a nice copy these days, I don't think. Nice post, Evan.

The newspaper cover reminds me of the famous cover for the first issue of The Whisperer, 1936-10. The artist is Tom Lovell:
