HEROES and DESPERADOES of the WEST (1950-51)

These one-pagers graced the pages of Kid Cowboy comics, an otherwise undistinguished publication in the early fifties. Some of these, you'll see, are signed by John Buscema, Joe Maneely and Ogden Whitney. My thanks to the intrepid scanners of ComicBookPlus.

My understanding is that Wild Bill was a psychopath originally called "Duck Bill" because of a cleft lip. He fled home as a teen after murdering a man. Somehow, this part of his past seems to have been erased from history.

Regarding Billy the Kid, how do you become an immigrant if you're born in New York City?

I couldn't figure that either, but according to dictonary.com, an "emigrant" is "someone who leaves a country or region. I guess that makes us both emigrants, but you way more than me.

Yeah, I was using the wrong word. One day I'll learn to double check, if I live long enough. On the up side, I beat a traffic light ticket.
