Buck Jones Rides Again

Now that James Reasoner has made Buck Jones cool again (in his outstanding Beat to a Pulp story "One Night Near Hangtown"), I figured it was time to pay tribute to Buck, who was featured on some of the finest western movie posters of all time. Here are three of my favorites.

1936

1936

1937

I own a copy of SUDDEN BILL DORN and plan to watch it soon. Those are great posters.

Gorgeous posters! I put a link in my post today to your site by the way in case you didn't know.

I'm glad to see Buck's name out and about again. Some of the best of the Bs you can find anywhere.

Oh, and terrific posters.

What lovely poster art. What a shame that most of these artists are unknown.

They don't make 'em like that anymore. More's the pity.

One thing I've never seen for sale is the original art of old movie posters. These posters are worth several thousand dollars each (wish I owned them). Can you imagine what the originals would go for?

I have a hunch the covers are as exciting as the books!

I discovered Buck Jones when a local station picked up a package with some of his final films with Col. Tim McCoy. Buck quickly became a favorite. Wonderful posters. Thanks!
