"The Big Knockover," one of Hammett's longest and best stories (from Black Mask, Feb. 1927) hit the newspapers as "The Big Knock-over" in late 1934. The first few pieces here are from the Allentown Morning Call. The next ads and illos are from the Pittsburgh Sun-Times, and the final ad, announcing the serialization in the Chicago American, appeared in the Munster Times.
