Start the day with "The Saint"

.
This is one of the coolest TV themes ever, and never fails to get my juices flowing - especially when performed by Roland Shaw. But I can't hear it anymore without recalling Gary Dobbs' hilarious piece, How to Emulate the Saint on a Limited Budget. If you missed it the first time, it ain't too late.

I hear it and I think "Roger Moore." Having watched a ton of Moore's Saint on DVD, I then went back to his James Bond and realized the transformation was complete --as much as I enjoy THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN or A VIEW TO A KILL (his two best 007 entries IMO) --he is now and forever will be Simon Templar.

Moore was never 007 for me. Watching those films I still thought of him as Simon Templar. But I did like him just fine as Cousin Beau Maverick, too.
