The last poster is the third I've known with that particular play on words, the first being an album by hair-metal band W.A.S.P. and the second being Peter Brandvold's recent novel. Did they figure it was more tame to drop the second "L", or were they being more true to El Dorado?

I read a Roy Rogers book when I was a kid but I'm danged if I can remember which one.

Love these old posters. Thanks.

Your first assumption is correct, Rich. They dropped the L for decency's sake.
