The Baker Street Journal: Then and Now

Two attendees of this year's Bouchercon (Mr. Doug Levin and Mr. Bob Napier) gifted me with copies of the Spring 2005 issue of The Journal (below), compelling me to haul out Volume 1, Number 1 (above) for a comparison.

Considering these issues are 55 years apart, they're very much alike. The mag's dimensions have not changed at all. The first issue is perfect bound, while the new one is saddle-stitched. 1:1 has 108 pages, 55:1 has 64. Both are sparsely illustrated. Among the many pieces in the first issue are articles by Vincent Starrett, Anthony Boucher and Christopher Morley, plus a Holmes story by H. Bedford-Jones.

So that 2005 issue in the book bag is the lateest issue? I'm confused how a 6-yr-old can be latest....

I've heard of this journal but have never actually seen a copy in reality. Cool.
