Kilgore put Kit Carson's name on a couple of different cap guns in the late '50s. This particular model was issued in both short and long-barrel varieties. This is the long one, stretching to 9 1/2 inches. Longer is always better, right?
About 20 years ago, I found one of these in my park’s former landfill when I was a little kid. I showed it to my grandmother, and she told me it was hers and that she lost it a long time ago. Unfortunately it was rusty and badly damaged, but my grandfather held onto it after my grandmother passed. I don’t know what suddenly made me remember it.

Nice grips but they look small.
Is it worth any money now?
The grips are indeed designed for small hands. Toys are wasted on kids.
All vintage cap guns in decent shape are worth money. I'd value this one somewhere south of a hundred bucks.
