I've always been intrigued by this ad, which ran in the Spicy mags in the late 30s. The original edition (left), published in 1936, is extremely scarce, so I was pleased to learn that Black Dog Books has just issued a reprint.
Johnny Harding, the randy romeo of this novel, also appeared in a series of short stories in Spicy Detective, one of which is presented below. Author Cary Moran also did a series about a guy named Mike Cockrell. (Good porn star names, eh?)
For details on the new edition (right), visit the Black Dog Books site HERE.

Great title, cover, price.
Thanks to you i'm making a nice anthology of Detective Pulp ;)
You might want to check out the Yahoo group Pulpscans, Deka. They're making a lot of great old stories available for download.

Ther truth is, what i know this blog thanks to the Pulpscans group ;) I was searching for Jack Vance stories, and then, one day, i said "eh, why don't try other genres?" and here i am ;)
When you say "extremely scarce" about the original, I'll bet that De Luxe Limited Edition, numbered and signed by the author, bound in Novelex AAA cloth with three-color cellophane shielded jacket is even more scarce! (If it ever existed)
The only copies of this 1936 edition on Abe are $146 and $225, neither in dj, and neither sounds like the deluxe version. You'd think Cary Moran's mom (at least) would have bought one.
Thanks :)
