Vic Flint was one of very few pulpy hardboiled dicks to do business in the funny papers. His daily strip ran from 1946-56, and the Sunday from 1946-65. According to Ron Goulart, his first adventure began with the line "The whole thing started late one afternoon. I was sitting in my office reading the papers about a killing."
